Modules

Swiss nvHAP intervention and monitoring module

Despite its clinical and economic burden, non-ventilator-associated hospital-acquired pneumonia (nvHAP) remains an under-recognized healthcare-associated infection in Switzerland. Studies from Switzerland and abroad have demonstrated that adherence to nvHAP prevention measures are improvable, and that multimodal prevention bundles can significantly reduce nvHAP incidence.

Therefore, Swissnoso is currently developing an nvHAP intervention module with the support of the FOPH. The objectives are:

  • to provide hospitals with evidence-based recommendations on prevention measures for nvHAP
  • to provide hospitals with implementation resources that help to improve adherence to prevention measures including process indicator monitoring and feedback (via CCM nvHAP mobile app).
  • to ultimately reduce the incidence of nvHAP across Swiss hospitals.

The project is led by PD Dr. Aline Wolfensberger and is supported by her project team and the partner hospitals.
